As Nature’s Traveling Interpreter I am combining my passion, skills and education to reach out to as many people as possible to share my love of the outdoors and how to treat our outdoor spaces with the respect and care it deserves across the country.
I’ve always been passionate about using our outdoor spaces responsibly. Growing up in a family of scouts and volunteer firefighters led to my understanding of the effects humans have on our outdoor spaces.
That passion was reignited during my time as a volunteer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and a seasonal manager of a campground outside of Rocky Mountain National Park. I saw a need for education on how to use our outdoor spaces with respect and spent years spreading the word about respecting wildlife, staying on trails, disposing of trash properly, planning ahead for whatever nature decides to do, leaving wildflowers so others can view the beauty, showing respect to other users of the spaces we all share and teaching how to protect our parks and mountains from human caused fires.
For the last 11+ years I have been educating the public, training staff and volunteers and creating signage and brochures to push the message of outdoor ethics as far as possible.
As Nature’s Traveling Interpreter I am combining my passion, skills and education to reach out to as many people as possible to share my love of the outdoors and how to treat our outdoor spaces with the respect and care it deserves across the country.
